After regaining the coveted No.1 spot from FIFA 17 in last week’s standings, Activision’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has retained the top spot again for UK weekly sales, in turn becoming the Christmas No.1 for 2016, the 7th title in the hugely popular franchise to do so.
While it may not have had the best start to life after its worldwide reveal earlier this year, Infinite Warfare has continued to sell well post-release across consoles, fending off strong competition from FIFA 17, Battlefield 1 and Watch_Dogs 2 to take this year’s crown.
The latest UK video game sales chart standings see the top 3 remain the same, with FIFA 17 holding station at No.2 and Battlefield 1 in third, while Watch Dogs_2 climbs two spots to No.4. Additionally, Grand Theft Auto V re-enters the top 10 at No.5, with 130 weeks of its 170-week stint spent inside the top 10, a remarkable feat.
Elsewhere, notable new entries Dead Rising 4 and The Last Guardian suffer significant declines in the latest standings, dropping to No.18 and No.20 respectively, after entering the charts at No.5 and No.7 last week.
