Call of Duty: WWII Tops UK Chart With Massive Week One Sales

Activision’s Call of Duty: WWII has claimed the UK No.1 spot after a fine first week of sales.

In customary fashion, the latest iteration in the hugely popular shooter series sold significantly more units than its rivals to claim the No.1 spot following a release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Sales for Sledgehammer Games’ World War II shooter were up 57% on 2016’s space shooter Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, with a yearly revenue rise of 21%.

Last week’s No.1, Assassin’s Creed Origins drops a place to No.2 while another of week 44’s big entries – Super Mario Odyssey falls 2 places to No.4 behind FIFA 18 (No.3).

Elsewhere, PS4 exclusive Gran Turismo Sport holds firm at No.5, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus falls 2 places to No.6 and Forza Motorsport 7 is up 5 places to No.7.

The only other new entry inside Top 40 comes in the form of Focus Home Interactive’s Spintires: Mudrunner, which debuts at No.26 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As always, it’s worth mentioning that GFK Chart-Track stats only account for physical units sold and doesn’t take into account digital sales.
