Capcom has released its financial presentation, outlining the companies strategy for the fiscal year ending March 31st, 2018.
Aside from the companies future plans to expand on its console games and PC ports by launching major titles regularly, while strengthing digital downloads, we learn of Capcom’s plans to launch two major titles, one of which is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, the other unknown before March 31st, 2018.
Additionally, Capcom intends to build upon its lineup of re-releases of older titles on current generation consoles while promoting multiplatform development, including Nintendo’s new hybrid console – Nintendo Switch alongside Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Following the release of Capcom’s financial results, we learned that both Resident Evil 7 (3.5m sales) and Dead Rising 4, which at of the time of writing has failed to sell more than a million copies had both underperformed following their respective releases, despite Resident Evil 7‘s global success, it failed to sell the expected 4m at launch.
Capcom predicts that the seventh main series iteration will sell a further 2m by March 28th while it also expects Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite to sell 2m copies at launch.
