CD Projekt RED Celebrates 10 Years of The Witcher with Teary-Eyed Video

CD Projekt RED’s fantasy RPG series The Witcher turns 10 years old this month, and to mark the occasion the developer has released a teary-eyed video.

Based on the books written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher originally released in 2007 as a PC exclusive, but in the decade following its debut has gone on to cement itself in role-playing history with a further 2 entries for console and PC, and video game based on The Witcher 3‘s addictive card game Gwent, currently available for PC and Xbox One players.

The celebration video begins with series protagonist Geralt reminiscing about past adventures as characters from the 3 main series iterations including Ciri and Triss clamour around a table to eat food and drink wine. The heartwarming cinematic draws to a close with the White Wolf breaking the fourth wall to address and thank the player along with his fellow cast members before the screen fades to black and the words “time is fleeting, but memories are forever” light up the screen, very poignant indeed.

Dan has been gaming for nearly 30 years and has survived everything from Nuclear Fallouts to Zombie Outbreaks but his main love is Survival Horror and don't we all know it. Favourite games include Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto, he can be regularly found cruising the streets of Vice City listening to the classics.
