Deep Silver has announced a collaboration with developer Ys Net to publish Shenmue III for PS4 and PC.
A global publishing deal will cover both digital and physical versions of Shenmue III, which is slated for release in the second half of 2018.
The continuation of Ryo Hazuki’s story and third main series entry, Shenmue III profited from a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign, raising a staggering $6,333,295 to date with almost 70,000 backers. Series director Yu Suzuki will be in attendance at Gamescom in Cologne next week for 2 Meet and Greet sessions with fans of Shenmue at Hall 9.1 Stand B011/C010, Wednesday evening 18:30-19:30, and Thursday noon 12:30-13:30. Ys Net will also debut new gameplay footage for Shenmue III in Cologne.
“I am very pleased to secure this global partnership with Deep Silver, which is comprised of incredible men and women who have a deep passion for bringing Japanese titles to the rest of the world,” said Suzuki. “Throughout this process, Deep Silver has expressed a deep passion for Japanese games, the Shenmue franchise and its fans—this gives me further confidence in Shenmue III and that we have found the best partner possible.”
