Far Cry 5’s First Piece of Artwork Provocatively Depicts Last Supper Scene

With its full reveal coming this Friday, Ubisoft has unveiled its first piece of artwork for Far Cry 5, and it’s safe to say it’s a provocative one.

The first released artwork for the fifth iteration in the open world series (seen below) is a bizarre one; depicting a bearded man in shades striking a messiah pose at the centre of a table surrounded by heavily armed fellow bearded men, one woman and a wolf in a scene reminiscent of Leonardo Da Vinci’s portrait – The Last Supper.

In front of the self-proclaimed messiah lies a US flag which features a bunch of unique crosses rather than stars while a man sits tied upright in front of the table with the word “sinner” carved into his back, a foot or so away from a collection of guns and rockets.

The image teaches us that Far Cry 5 will feature a modern era with a story likely centred on a large group of religious militia. The move is certainly a bold one by the publisher that would see the long-running series depart the remote locations of Far Cry 3 and 4.

Far Cry 5‘s first piece of artwork follows the release of 4 short teaser trailers a couple days ago, each as bizarre as the image released today.

Ubisoft will fully reveal Far Cry 5 this coming Friday.
