First Gameplay Footage of PUBG’s New Desert Map Debuts at The Game Awards

Fans of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will get their first proper glimpse at the game’s second map during The Game Awards next month.

Hosted as always by Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards is an end of the year event known for its exclusive reveals and first look’s amidst award speeches and live music, and thanks to the hosts Twitter account, we now know that Bluehole’s battle royale PUBG will be one of those very exclusives.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds new map “Desert” will be shown in a live gameplay presentation to the audience inside the Microsoft Theater and to fans watching around the globe from the comfort of their own living room’s.

We’ve had glimpses of the new map before, but this will be the first opportunity to see it in action.

If you happen to have been sleeping under a rock for the past year you won’t have heard of PUBG, a game with 100 players, who after being dropped into a random location on a map, duke it amongst themselves until only 1 player remains, standing victorious over a pile of lifeless corpses.

It’s been on quite the roll of late following its Early Access release on PC via Steam earlier this year and recently dethroned fellow Steam juggernaut DOTA 2 for player base bragging rights. Oh, it’s also headed to Xbox One Preview Program real soon, so expect the PUBG train to continue rolling for some considerable time yet.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is out now for PC via Steam.

Dan has been gaming for nearly 30 years and has survived everything from Nuclear Fallouts to Zombie Outbreaks but his main love is Survival Horror and don’t we all know it. Favourite games include Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto, he can be regularly found cruising the streets of Vice City listening to the classics.
