Gamescom 2017: THQ Announce New Open World RPG BioMutant

During its Gamescom 2017 presentation, publisher THQ Nordic announced a new open-world action RPG, BioMutant, expected to launch in 2018 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Described as an “open-world, post apocalyptic kung-fu fable“, BioMutant is in development at Experiment 101, a studio founded by ex-Avalanche Studio’s creative director Stefan Ljungqvist.

According to the game’s official website, “BioMutant’s unique design lets players change their character’s abilities and appearance with powerful mutations, bionic prosthetics and weapons“. As the main character, which appears to be a racoon, players will be able to grow claws, sprout wings, and even attach a robotic leg with each of those choices impacting the way the hero plays in real time combat that blends the explosiveness of firearms with close quarters melee martial arts.

Take a peek at BioMutant in the cinematic trailer below.
