During the recent Halo livestream, news came fast and furiously for fans of the franchise, touching on nearly every modern title.
Primarily, this patch will look to address long-standing issues of the title’s matchmaking, but also add in Xbox One X enhancements. It is presently unknown what kind of enhancements are on the way, but the patch itself comes as a surprise given that the last patch arrived on October 13th, 2015.
This new patch, enhancements included, will be launching sometime in 2018. Halo 5: Guardians will also be seeing a 4K update for Xbox One X, available sometime in November.
Halo Wars 2, the Xbox Play Anywhere title will also be gaining cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 players in addition to Xbox One X enhancements and Arena support on Xbox One. Cross-play, Arena, and the enhancements will go live sometime this month.
Along with this, 343 Industries also announced a new title available on Mixed Reality devices called Halo Recruit. Players can download it at home, or try out a demo for themselves at participating Microsoft Stores.
