For Honor‘s third season is nearly upon us and will launch August 15th across Windows PCs, Xbox One, and PS4.
The online medical combat game will have new heroes, maps, gear, and gameplay updates available when “Grudge and Glory” goes live. The new heroes, the Highlander and Gladiator, will be available for Season Pass holders on August 15th, and for other players to unlock with in-game currency on August 22nd.
The Vikings gain the Highlander who comes to For Honor as a Hybrid character. The Highlander has defensive and offensive fighting stances where the offensive stance does not permit blocking. The Highlander comes equipped with a claymore sword that is the heaviest and longest sword yet in the game.
The Knights gain a new Assassin character in the Gladiator. Wielding a trident and shield, they have a larger stamina meter allowing players to use them in an agile manner. However, they also have light armor, and will be easier to eliminate then most other warriors.
Being added to the world of For Honor are two maps, Sentinel, and Viking Village. Both maps promise to hold unique environmental challenges that will test players awareness of the maps. A new gear rarity, and increase to the max reputation for all Heroes round out the announcements for all players.
For those who crave a more competitive experience can also try out a new 1v1 duel tournament mode. Later this year, 4v4 ranked modes will also be introduced. Gameplay rebalances will also be introduced in an attempt to better balance offensive and defensive play styles.
Those interested in taking a peek at these new changes will want to watch as a reveal livestream tournament will want to tune into twitch.tv/forhonorgame on August 12th at 7PM BST/ 2PM EST. Aside from giving a peek at season three, the stream will also showcase a competition towards a $10,000 prize pool.
For Honor was released worldwide this last February 14th on Windows PCs, Xbox One , and PS4.
