Injustice 2 is Broken Down in New “101” Trailer

If every battle defines you in Injustice 2, consider this your schooling.

Today, Warner Bros. published a new trailer showcasing the different modes of play as well as the mobile app coming to iOS and Android devices ahead of the full game’s launch on May 11th. The trailer first brings up the storyline of Injustice 2 and makes a mention of “decisions you make” having “earth-shattering consequences“.

It goes on to bring up characters and alliances and gives a peek into the factions that are at play in the story. Specifically making mention of Superman being allied with Robin, Cyborg, Wonder Woman, and Black Adam. Similarly, Batman will be allied with Harley Quinn, Black Canary, and a “coalition of freedom fighters“. Other factions and characters are referenced in the trailer.

Gear is highlighted as well as a way to customize the appearance of a character, and potentially grant special moves that otherwise are unavailable. The curtain is further pulled back on the Multiverse mode which appears to replace the S.T.A.R. Labs feature from Injustice: Gods Among Us. Here, Daily, Weekly, and even Hourly challenges will test players fighting abilities with special modifiers that alter how the game plays. The deeper you get, the more Gear you can unlock.

Guilds are also introduced in the trailer and allow different players to fight cooperatively and earn better rewards through more challenges. What isn’t clear, is if the Guilds assist through the normal Multiverse mode or if they are separated. Additionally, the mobile app was detailed bit more, including the ability to unlock Gear in the full console release. The previous mobile app allowed for unlocks for costumes and multiplayer cosmetic items in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

The full game of Injustice 2 is releasing just around the corner for PS4 and Xbox One on May 16th in North America, May 17th in Australia, and May 19th in Europe.
