Tarsier Studios has dated and detailed the upcoming expansion pack for Little Nightmares.
Following numerous teases of an expansion to its whimsical platformer, the studio has finally confirmed that Little Nightmares: Secrets of the Maw will debut this July as standalone chapters, with a further 2 released in November and January respectively.
So what exactly is Secrets of the Maw?
Secrets of the Maw will tell the story of another young prisoner trapped within the Maw, Little Nightmares submerged setting. The journey of the unnamed boy will coincide with the timeline of Six, the main game’s heroine, so expect paths to cross which might paint a better picture of both characters. Each chapter of the journey will be released individually and will take the young boy through new levels including The Depths, The Hideaway and a secret location with all new gameplay mechanics and puzzles to solve.
Do I need to own Little Nightmares to gain access to Secrets of the Maw?
In a word, yes. All players looking to experience the upcoming expansion will need to own a copy of Little Nightmares or the Complete Edition on their respective platform ie: Xbox One, PS4 or PC in order to play each chapter.
