Nintendo has confirmed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will not contain any additional tracks when the game releases on April 28th for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo had previously announced new features for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with a rehaul of the games battle modes, including new arenas Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium, in addition to all new characters and vehicles plus the return of the double item box from Mario Kart: Double Dash, however, it did not disclose whether the game would feature all new circuits to accompany a port of the 2014 Wii U title.
As reported by Famitsu, during a recent Japanese live stream broadcast to highlight some of the first-party titles coming to Nintendo Switch (6:10 onwards), executives at Nintendo seemingly confirmed that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would only contain 48 circuits in total on release, the same amount that you get when you combine all of the games original circuits along with additional DLC circuits.
It remains to be seen at this moment whether new circuits will be added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe post-launch as part of any DLC content.
