Mario + Rabbids, Shadow of War and Wolfenstein II Lead Nominations for 2017 Game Critic Awards: Best of E3

With E3 over for another 12 months, 2017 The Game Critics Awards: Best of E3 nominations are now in.

To meet the criteria, only games that were available to demo for a minimum of 5 minutes are eligible for nomination, which means the likes of Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man, God of WarAbsolver, Cuphead and Metro Exodus all fail to make the cut this time around.

With 38 media publications included in the voting this year, the most nominations received include Mario + Rabbids Battle Kingdom, Middle-earth: Shadow of War and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, all of which receive 4 nominations. Next up is Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Super Mario Odyssey and Destiny 2 with 3 nods a piece followed by Call of Duty: WWII, Sea of Thieves and Detroit Become Human with 2 each.

Ubisoft leads the way for publisher nominations with 11 followed by Sony (7) Bethesda (6) Warner Bros, Nintendo, Activision and Electronic Arts (5). In terms of platform nominations, PC and Sony share 49 nods with Xbox One (44) and Nintendo Switch (17).
