Microsoft Surprises All With Phantom Dust Release

Head of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg surprised the Xbox faithful with the announcement via this tweet that original Xbox title Phantom Dust will be available for free on May 16th.

Not only that, but Phantom Dust joins the ever growing list of titles available with the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Those that choose to download the game can play it and the same save files on Windows 10 or Xbox One. This is a rerelease of the original game with additional widescreen support and frame rate improvements. And the cherry on top of this delicious gaming surprise is that the title will be free.

Phantom Dust originally came out in September of 2004 in Japan before coming to the United States in March of 2005. The title is a collectible card game where you build a deck and then engage in more traditional third-person shooter combat.
