Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will now launch worldwide on October 10th, 2017, developer Monolith Productions has announced.
In February, publisher Warner Bros revealed an August 22nd, 2017 release date for the game, which means Shadow of War will now release 7 weeks later than originally expected.
“As with Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Monolith is committed to delivering the highest quality experience,” said the developer in a statement published on Warner Bros community website. “In order to do this, we have made the difficult decision to move our launch date to ensure that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will deliver on that promise.”
Monolith would go on to apologise for the delay but stated that it is “excited to show more at E3.”
Shadow of War is the follow-up to the hugely successful Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and is currently in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game will also support PS4 Pro and Project Scorpio and will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
