Just in case you had the notion that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild didn’t have enough content, Nintendo has detailed the first DLC Pack set to hit the title this summer on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
Included in the first pack is a new “Trial of the Sword” which challenges the player to take on 45 different trials in order to awaken the true power of the Master Sword. This is reachable at a certain sacred location in-game.
Two new modes will be added, with one being familiar, and another new. The new mode will be Hero’s Path mode. This will show you Link’s journey over the last 200 hours of gameplay on the map screen. This will prove useful for those who love to get lost, but still want to explore every corner Hyrule has to offer. The more familiar mode will be a hard mode featuring tougher enemies with regenerative health.
One new item will be added via a chest placed somewhere in Hyrule called the Travel Medallion. The Medallion will allow the player to create a new fast travel point. Notably, only one location can be registered at a time.
The rest of the DLC Pack contains pieces of armor including Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet, and Tingle’s Outfit. Among the armor, there is also a Korok Mask which will help players find the 900 seeds hiding throughout Hyrule.
DLC Pack 1 for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release this summer as part of the Expansion Pass. Players can only buy the Pack as part of the Pass for $20 (US).
