The Nintendo Switch has sold over 2 million units in North America following its release in March, Nintendo has announced in a press release.
In the month of September, Nintendo dominated hardware sales with Nintendo 3DS, Super NES Classic Edition and Nintendo Switch claiming two-thirds of all hardware sales in the United States.
Software sales throughout September are also a great reflection of Nintendo’s current resurgence. Occupying several spots in the best-selling games of the month are Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle at No.7, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at No.10 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No.11 for Switch with Metroid: Samus Returns debuting at No.8 for Nintendo 3DS.
Having outsold both the Xbox One and PS4 for the month of September and the console yet to go through its first Christmas holiday season, Nintendo’s momentum doesn’t look like stopping anytime soon, and with the upcoming release of Super Mario Odyssey next week plus Bethesda duo DOOM and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim arriving in November for Nintendo Switch, it’s certainly a good time to be a Nintendo fan.
