In an interesting turn of events, Nordic Games announced today that the publisher has rebranded itself as THQ Nordic.
In 2013 Nordic Games, whose previously published titles list Alan Wake and Ori and the Blind Forest bought up a large amount of THQ I.P’s including the rights to Red Faction, Darksiders and Destroy All Humans!, the publisher would then go on to purchase the THQ trademark in 2014.
Acquiring the rights to promising I.P’s such as Red Faction opened up the possibility of future releases for some of THQ’s more popular franchises, something THQ Nordic are pushing forward with, “As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced but are sure to be in the next months“, said THQ Nordic. “Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises“. Is it possible that we could see a return for Red Faction and Destroy All Humans!, maybe Darksiders 3.
THQ Nordic will be at Gamescom 2016 in Cologne next week, where the company will showcase Darksiders Warmastered Editon, We Sing and Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide along with many other titles.
