In a blog post on the official Xbox website, Corporate VP of Marketing for Xbox, Mike Nichols teased the companies plans for the upcoming 12 months, including exciting new enhancements and games planned for 2017 on Xbox Live and Xbox One.
As Project Scorpio looms on the horizon, Nichols expects 2017 to be a “special year for Xbox gamers“, and with a new line-up of exciting games to look forward to, in addition to the launch of arguably the most powerful console on the planet, there is certainly plenty for Xbox owners to be excited about in 2017.
“We will not only launch the most powerful console ever in Project Scorpio, but we also plan to bring a number of exciting enhancements to Xbox Live,” said Nichols, although Xbox’s Vice President of Marketing stopped short of offering more information on what enhancements might arrive for Xbox Live.
“We’ll deliver a terrific portfolio of new games with Xbox Live support on Xbox One, Windows 10 or both this spring,” Nichols continued.
“We are especially excited about Halo Wars 2, which launches on Feb. 21. There are many other titles coming by this spring, like Resident Evil 7 biohazard, For Honor, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, TEKKEN 7, Thimbleweed Park, Mass Effect Andromeda, South Park: The Fractured but Whole and Tacoma.”
As far as a release date goes for Project Scorpio, Nichols wouldn’t reveal one but did state that Xbox would unveil the console “in the coming months“.
