Following data-mining last week, Blizzard Entertainment has announced Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition, available digitally on Xbox One, PS4 and PC from May 23rd.
Furthermore, Overwatch will have a free to play weekend from May 26–29 and an Anniversary Event scheduled to begin on May 23rd to celebrate the 12 months following the release of the first-person shooter.
On Tuesday, May 23rd, players will be able to purchase digital versions of Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, which will include a variety of in-game goodies from Blizzard games including World of Warcraft, Diablo III and Starcraft II and Hearthstone alongside Loot Boxes, Hero Skins and much more.
In addition to announcing a Game of the Year Edition, Blizzard will celebrate a year of Overwatch with an Anniversary Event on May 23rd, before hosting another free weekend from May 26th-29th, where it will make Overwatch‘s full roster of heroes and maps available for play in a variety of modes, including Quick Play, Custom Games, and the latest Weekly Brawl.
Players will also be able to level up, earn Loot Boxes, and unlock a variety of different customization options, with all progress transferable upon purchasing the full game or GOTY Edition.
