PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds continues to shatter Steam records, with the hit battle royale game pushing close to hitting 2 million concurrent players this past weekend.
By far and away the most popular game on the digital platform right now, Steam stats show that PUBG‘s closest competitor, DOTA 2 currently has a daily peak of a little over 700,000 peak concurrent players, which pales in comparison to the 1,963,080 eclipsed by PUBG. Furthermore, the current number of players has more than doubled since Bluehole’s 100 player battle royale first smashed the record back last month.
Since its release, PUBG has managed to shift over 13 million units, all before leaving Steam Early Access. With Bluehole’s breakout hit set to arrive on Xbox One in the not too distant future, and talks with Sony for a PS4 release ongoing, the future looks incredibly bright for the developer and PUBG.
