After 2 months of domination by Nintendo Switch, Sony’s PS4 was once again the biggest selling console platform in the United States for the month of May, according to the latest NPD report.
Nintendo Switch had topped the charts for consecutive months following its launch on March 3rd this year but falls to No.2 in the latest report with PS4 reclaiming the top spot for May.
As is often the case with NPD reports, we don’t get the actual numbers, there is also no mention of performance for Nintendo’s NES Classic Edition which sat behind Switch in April in the No.2 spot.
Injustice 2 tops the software sales chart for May with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No.2 and Grand Theft Auto V at No.3.
Mario Kart 8
Grand Theft Auto V
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Although hardware spending is up by 7% from April throughout May, overall spending is down 11% compared to May 2016, dropping to $542 million from $610 million a year ago.
