Resident Evil 7 Debuts at No.1 in Latest UK Sales Chart Standings, Third Best Launch in UK Series History

Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 biohazard makes its debut at No.1 in the latest UK sales chart standings, knocking last week’s No.1, Grand Theft Auto V down to No.2.

Released January 24th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, the seventh entry in the long-running survival horror series becomes the third best-selling series week one in the UK, with Resident Evil 5 the best-selling week one title of the series for UK sales after its release for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2009.

Resident Evil also remains Capcom’s most successful brand in the United Kingdom, sitting just outside the Top 30 all-time brands since it made its debut in 1996, currently boasting the same revenue as Sony’s Crash Bandicoot and Ubisoft’s Just Dance.

There are 4 other notable arrivals this week with Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter debuting at No.3, Sega’s Yakuza 0 at No.8, Bandai Namco’s Tales of Berseria at No.14 and Digimon World: Next Order entering at No.24.

In other sales news, Sony’s 500GB Glacier White Edition PS4 also arrived this week, accounting for around a quarter of all PS4 units sold in week 4, 2017.
