Shipments of Resident Evil 7 biohazard have surpassed 2 million worldwide, Capcom has announced.
Released this past Tuesday for Xbox One, PS4 and PC worldwide, the seventh iteration in the main series of survival horror games follows protagonist Ethan as he attempts to rescue his wife Mia from the ever-so-creepy Baker family home.
While its launch sales are indeed impressive, they have not quite reached the scale predicted last month by Capcom EMEA marketing director Antoine Molant, who confidently claimed the game would sell 4 million units at launch.
Additionally, cumulative sales for the Resident Evil series have exceeded a whopping 75 million worldwide since it first debuted in 1996, with downloads for Resident Evil 7‘s teaser demo passing through the 7 million mark.
Resident Evil 7 biohazard is out now for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
