15-Year-Old Behind the Scenes Motion Capture Footage of Team Silent’s Silent Hill 2 Surfaces Online

Highly thought of as a masterpiece of development, Team Silent’s 2001 survival horror game Silent Hill 2 will live long in the memory for most fans of the horror genre.

While production for Hideo Kojima’s exciting project Silent Hills ultimately descended into the abyss, previous titles from the eerie series remain as strong as ever, holding a lot of fond memories for fans of the popular series based on the fictional ghost town of Silent Hill; none more so than the classic 2001 title that features James Sunderland as he searches for his wife in the monster filled town.

For fans of the 2001 PS2, Xbox, PC and later re-released Xbox 360, PS3 title, Guy Cihi otherwise known as GCNavigator on YouTube recently shared 8 minutes of 15-year-old behind the scenes motion capture footage for Silent Hill 2 that shows the moments that prelude the game’s fantastic finale.

It was lost in storage for more than 15 years,” explains Guy (real name Jason). “I only found it because two years ago I converted the old Hi8 family video tapes to DVDs in advance of my daughter’s wedding. And even then, at just 3 min., it remained elusive until just about two weeks ago.”

Warning: The below footage contains heavy spoilers for Silent Hill 2.
