Sledgehammer Details Call of Duty: WWII’s Private Multiplayer Beta

Sledgehammer Games has detailed the features included in Call of Duty: WWII‘s private multiplayer beta, starting August 25th on PS4.

The private beta will be the first chance for players to check out Call of Duty: WWII‘s Divisions and War Mode. Divisions replace the Pick 10 Create-a-Class system of old with players able to enlist in one of five iconic fighting groups Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored, or Mountain Division. The multiplayer beta will feature a selection of player soldier progression with limited progression available to unlock basic training skills, scorestreaks, weapons and equipment as the developer continues to “fine-tune” the features final design ahead of its release this Fall.

Players partaking in the multiplayer beta will also get a taste of Call of Duty: WWII‘s first War Mode experience – Operation Breakout. Developed in coalition with Raven Software, War Mode represents a new way to play multiplayer in Call of Duty as Allied and Axis soldiers fight an immersive battle throughout the war-torn village of Saint. Lo, in North-western France.

Other featured locations during the multiplayer beta include Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes, and Gibraltar where players will return to fight across some of Call of Duty‘s favourite modes – Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint. Certain elements will not be included in the private beta as the developer notes that Headquarters, Supply Drops and Loot, Ranked Play and Game Battles will not play any part in the upcoming beta.

The Call of Duty: WWII private multiplayer beta begins August 25th on PS4 before a second beta rolls out for PS4 and Xbox One at a later unconfirmed date. Players can gain access to the multiplayer beta by pre-ordering Call of Duty: WWII.

Call of Duty: WWII is available November 3rd, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
