Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 Delayed Until April 2017 For “Further Polish And Optimisation”

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 has a new release date of April 4th, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC after suffering a further delay to allow the developer more time to polish and optimise the game.

Developer CI Games made the decision to push the game back to April 2017 after receiving a lot of positive feedback from players, fans and the media throughout 2016. “We’re making an ambitious game and unfortunately still need an extra few months to make sure it will stand up to the expectations of the fans,” said Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games.

Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimising the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished.”

The third title in the franchise sees players assume the role of Jonathan North, an American sniper who finds himself near Russian borders in northern Georgia. With the largest open world maps the series has ever seen and a day/night cycle that truly impacts gameplay, it’s no surprise to see CI further delay Ghost Warrior 3.

Tymiński finished by saying “I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole. This is a new beginning for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior franchise.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 releases April 4th, 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
