Alex Rose Games’ Super Meat Boy-like platformer Super Rude Bear Resurrection will release for PS4 on May 2nd and May 5th on Steam, the developer has announced.
A game 3 years in development, Super Rude Bear Resurrection is “a super tight masocore platformer that anyone can beat“, according to the developer’s website, who has additional plans to bring the platformer to Xbox One in the future.
Rude Bear is a hardcore platformer with a twist — every time you die, your corpse stays exactly where you left it, and with your next life you can use your dead body as a platform or meatshield to keep you alive. The game’s difficulty lowers with each death, meaning that anyone can beat it — but players looking for a real challenge can try to blitz the entire thing without dying at all.
Super Rude Bear Resurrection is a game we’ve had our eye on for some time now. Back in June of 2015, I had the opportunity to chat with developer Alex Rose about his at the time in-development platformer and his experiences with Ludum Dare.
PlayStation shared a new gameplay trailer for Super Rude Bear Resurrection earlier today, check that out below ahead of its May 2nd release.
