Ubisoft has just announced that it will release a feature-length documentary a day prior to the release of tactical shooter Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands.
Airing March 5th, the tie-in documentary will address some of the real life angles the developer/publisher is aiming to tackle with Wildlands, in particular, the drug trade.
“Wildlands is a thought-provoking depiction of this complex issue. This subject matter has accumulated huge global interest and we believe that, as a companion to Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, we take gamers and viewers of Wildlands on a journey of discovery of an issue that continues to grip and fascinate global audiences,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Ubisoft.
Set in Bolivia, Ghost Recon Wildlands tackles the overwhelming issue with the drug trade head-on as the American Government, concerned by the rise in power of numerous drug cartels, send a tactical unit “the Ghosts” into the South American country to take down an infamous drug group by the name of Santa Blanca.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands will release on March 6th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
