The first part of 2D interactive novel, The Pillars of the Earth, is now available on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, and Xbox One.
An adaptation of Ken Follett’s 1989 multi-million selling historical book, The Pillars of the Earth is a unique 2D interactive novel that follows 3 playable characters Jack, Aliena, and Phillip as they face off against envy, politics and murder in an attempt to build a revolutionary gothic cathedral in the fictional town of Kingsbridge in 12th century England. The Pillars of the Earth will be released as books, each consisting of seven chapters. Book 1 “From the Ashes” is now available and players who purchase a season pass will automatically receive books 2 and 3 when they become available.
Daedalic Entertainment’s interactive novel isn’t the first adaptation of Follett’s book, in 2010 an 8 part TV mini series aired in North America, Canada and the UK. The Pillars of the Earth would go on to pick up 3 Golden Globe nominations including Best Mini-Series.
The Pillars of the Earth is available now for £34.99 on PC or £39.99 on consoles.
