Xbox has announced that a new subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, will be launching June 1st for all Xbox One owners.
The service will allow players to play games from a choice of over 100 titles that range from indie hits like Massive Chalice, Layers of Fear, and Super Time Force, plus blockbuster titles like Sunset Overdrive, XCOM Enemy Within, and Halo 5: Guardians.
More titles will be added in the future, but it is currently unknown how frequently the list will be updated. If players truly enjoy a game, they will also have access to discounted content with a Game Pass subscription. A 20% discount will be applied to purchase full games, and 10% discount will be applied towards add-on content.
However, it is also unknown if games will be removed from the service at any time. If a game is added to the list of applicable titles, players can download them to their console and play online or offline at their leisure. Xbox Live Gold is still required for online multiplayer. Xbox Game Pass will cost $9.99 a month, but for those that aren’t sure there is a 14-day trial available. And if you are an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, the trial is available today.
As for availability, Xbox Game Pass will be in 30 markets including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK and US.
