Destiny 2 Gets New Release Dates and Details

Today, developer Bungie and publisher Activision unveiled that the release date for Destiny 2 is getting changed.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game are coming worldwide September 6th, 2017. The PC version being made available through Blizzard’s platform will be available on October 24th.

Even bigger news though is that the Beta period is quickly approaching.

PS4 players will have the first crack at it if they pre-ordered Destiny 2. The Closed Beta for PS4 begins on July 18th at 18:00 PM BST/13:00 PM EDT. Xbox One’s Closed Beta for those who pre-order the new shooter begins 24 hours later. Want a taste before you pre-order? Bungie has heard you, and will also offer an Open Beta period for both PS4 and Xbox One players starting July 21st at 18:00 PM BST/13:00 PM EDT. The Open Beta will close on July 23rd at 05:00 AM BST/20:00 PM EDT. PC players don’t have to fret either, as the Beta period is being planned for August, but no firm dates or times have been confirmed for now.

Also unveiled were PS4 timed exclusives to last until at least Fall of 2018. These include a competitive multiplayer map, a 3-person cooperative Strike, a blue and white colored ship, specialised gear sets, and an exotic weapon.

In Destiny 2, players must fight back against an alien invasion after Earth’s final city has fallen to the Red Legion and its leader, Dominos Ghaul. A fresh start is promised so newcomers and veterans can start on even footing.
