Call of Duty Earns $500 Million Over Three-Day Weekend

If there was a concern that the Call of Duty franchise was running out of gas, that can now be put to rest.

Activision reports that Call of Duty: WWII has earned $500 Million worldwide in the first three days of release. The publisher also detailed other metrics that make it clear that World War II was a good direction for this new entry. For instance, the game sold twice as many units as last year’s Infinite WarfareWWII also managed to bring in the most connected users across console and PC yet. And if that wasn’t enough, Call of Duty: WWII also surpassed the record for most PS4 launch day digital sales.

Exact sales figures are not available at the moment, but the blowout weekend for Call of Duty outpaced even the top film in the United States for the weekend, Thor: Ragnarok by $27 Million.

Call of Duty: WWII is available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The historical shooter is also enhanced for both PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Stephen has been an avid gamer for nearly 25 years, fighting alongside caped crusaders, Jedi, and biotic Asari along the way. He likes to try new things but frequently comes back to Overwatch.
