Call of Duty Returns to London with WWII Multiplayer Map, Gridiron Mode Revealed

Call of Duty returns to old blighty this November.

Sledgehammer Games has revealed a couple of new images for a London based multiplayer map that will feature in its upcoming shooter, Call of Duty: WWII. Set beside the famous London Docks, the map (seen above) will feature iconic red buses along with a cafe and pub, which has been converted into an air raid shelter. By the looks of the nearby street, London appears to be in a state of disarray, possibly following one of many blitzes orchestrated by German bombers during World War II.

The City of London has of course featured in the popular series before. Its most recent appearance coming in 2011’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, co-developed by Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward. The other image shared by the developer showcases Gridiron, a new mode to Call of Duty. Gridiron takes place inside the iconic London Underground stations and shares similar elements with another series favourite mode Uplink.

Call of Duty: WWII launches for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 3rd.
