During its 30th anniversary live stream, Capcom announced Mega Man 11, coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC in 2018.
Not much information is known about Mega Man 11 at this time, other than that the game will release sometime in late 2018, retains the iconic 2D platformer style gameplay of its 10 predecessors and will be produced and directed by Capcom and Mega Man veterans Kazuhiro Tsuchiya and Koki Oda.
During a livestream celebrating the 30th anniversary of the series, the pair spoke about their goals for a new Mega Man game, stating that No.11 in the long-running series would be a rebirth or resurrection for the iconic Blue Bomber, who is equipped with a new look thanks to art director and character designer Yuji Ishihara.
Although we’ll undoubtedly have to wait until the back end of 2018 for the next installment in the series, Capcom announced that it would share more information on Mega Man 11 next summer.
We got a glimpse at the game and its new hand-drawn art style in action too via an announcement trailer, which you can check out down below.
Additionally, the Japanese publisher also revealed that it will bring all Mega Man X games to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC in 2018 along with Mega Man Legacy Collection and Legacy Collection 2, which will both head to Nintendo Switch in 2018, with some form of Amiibo support.
