FIFA 18 closes out Q3 by topping the latest GFK Chart-Track standings for weekly UK boxed sales.
In what is becoming something of a yearly tradition, the global footballing juggernaut swept its way to the top following a release on 5 different platforms last week, including an EA first for Nintendo. Despite its debut on Nintendo Switch, 97% of overall sales for FIFA 18 are unsurprisingly attributed to Xbox One and PS4, with the latter alone claiming 60% of sales for week 1. By comparison, sales are up 53% on the series’ previous entry – FIFA 17, thanks in part to the promotion of various bundles prior to the game’s launch.
Dropping down a place to accommodate FIFA 18 is Bungie’s first-person shooter Destiny 2, which had previously enjoyed 3 weeks on top of the UK charts after its successful release in week 36 for Xbox One and PS4. Ahead of the release of Microsoft exclusive Forza Motorsport 7; Forza Horizon 3 climbs 6 places to No.3 and 2k Games’ NBA 2K18 drops to No.4.
Last week’s No.2, Project CARS 2 is down 5 places this week (No.7) while Halo 5: Guardians re-enters the chart at No.11. The only other new release this week sees NIS America’s Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony debut at No.36 for PS4 and PS Vita.
