Report: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sells 1.49M in First Week at Retail

Nintendo’s open-world adventure epic The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 1,489,475 units in its first week at retail, according to VGChartz estimates.

With the latest addition in the highly popular Zelda series release coinciding with the launch of Nintendo Switch, it makes sense for a considerable number of units sold to favour Nintendo’s latest hybrid console, with 1,117,237 or 75% of sales attributed to Nintendo Switch and 372,238 units for Wii U 25%.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released on March 3rd to largely favourable reviews from critics, resulting in a 97% average on Metacritic. If you haven’t already, why not check out our very own review to find out why Adam Kheroua scored the game 10/10.
