Marvel Heroes Abruptly Shuts Down

A new online title has shuttered it’s doors across all available platforms. The Gazillion Entertainment developed game Marvel Heroes has now been shut down by publisher Marvel.

Marvel, and by extension Disney, explained that the relationship with Gazillion was ending. Recently, updates to the community as well as patch release dates had frequently come and gone with no explanation. The original deal between Gazillion and Marvel would’ve seen Gazillion create games for 10 years in 2009. Today’s actions cuts the relationship about a year and a half early.

Marvel Heroes had been a free-to-play MMO title that had players becoming their favorite heroes like Storm, Colossus, and Iron Man. Originally released on PC in 2013, it had been ported to Xbox One and PS4 on June 30th of this year.

Stephen has been an avid gamer for nearly 25 years, fighting alongside caped crusaders, Jedi, and biotic Asari along the way. He likes to try new things but frequently comes back to Overwatch.
