Sales for block-building phenomenon Minecraft have surpassed 120 million worldwide, Swedish developer Mojang has announced.
Following its acquisition by Microsoft in 2014, the popular sandbox exploration game has continued to sell extremely well across all platforms, with close to 15 million copies sold in the past 8 months.
New figures announced via the official Minecraft Twitter account earlier today put the game at 122 million with a staggering 55 million players playing the game per month.

Minecraft will head to Nintendo Switch later this year.
