Monster Hunter: World has become the fastest selling video game of all time for Capcom, the Japanese publisher has announced.
Despite only launching on January 26th this year, the latest entry in the 14-year-old series has already surpassed Resident Evil 7 and Street Fighter V for sales, having shipped over six million copies worldwide following its release on Xbox One and PS4.
January also proved to be a great month for Monster Hunter: World on PS4 with Sony announcing just last week that the action-RPG had become the biggest selling game on the PlayStation Network for both the US and Europe for the first month of 2018.
To put its runaway success into further perspective, Capcom only announced at the end of January that the year-old Resident Evil 7 was closing in on 5 million sales worldwide, a figure Monster Hunter: World has passed in just a fraction of the time.
Monster Hunter: World is out now for Xbox One and PS4, with a tentative Q3/Q4 2018 release window for a Microsoft Windows release.
