Developer Machine Games is working with Panic Button to port Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to Nintendo Switch.
Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced earlier this year that B.J Blazkowicz’s action-packed crusade to save America from Nazi rulership would arrive on Switch in 2018, but the developer in charge of the port was unknown at that time. Thanks to Machine Games’ narrative designer Tommy Tordsson Bjork and senior game designer Andreas Öjerfors we now know that the Texas-based studio will handle Wolfenstein II‘s port.
In a conversation with GameReactorEU at the Fun & Serious Game Festival in Bilbao, both Öjerfors and Bkork confirmed that Machine Games were working with the same studio id Software had for DOOM‘s port to Nintendo Switch – Panic Button, the studio also responsible for Rocket League‘s arrive on the same console earlier in the year.
“They’re experts at the Switch and now they’re experts with the [id Tech 6] engine so we work with them, and the Doom version turned out to be really kick-ass on the Switch so I think Wolfenstein will be the same,” said Öjerfors before Bjork added, “It’s going to be as good.”
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is available right now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and is expected to launch for Nintendo Switch in 2018.
