Rainbow Six Siege Year 2 First Update Rolling Out Today, Introduces New Operators and Map

The second year of content for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege begins today with the introduction of Operation Velvet Shell, the first free update of 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Owners of Rainbow Six Siege‘s Year 2 pass will instantly receive two new Operators of the Spanish Counter Terrorist Unit – Mira and Jackal, along with their four signature weapons skins. Non-season pass owners will be able to unlock the new operators using Siege‘s in-game currency “Renown” or R6 Credits from February 14th, 2017.

Operation Velvet Shell also comes with a new map – Coastline, where players attempt to regain control of the Ibiza coastline using all their tactical expertise. Coastline is available to all players.

Additionally, Ubisoft has built upon a successful first year with a new dynamic navigation interface, with all player activity such as challenges, news and boosters available from the same place.

We are working hard on ensuring the game’s longevity. We are here to stay so want to make sure that you’re getting comfortable,” explains Xavier Marquis, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege Creative Director.

Better known as RzrsS in the video game scene, Stephan Rodts has been playing video games for nearly his entire life. He started out shooting poor ducks out of the sky in Duck Hunt on the Nintendo, but now shoots everything that moves. Be warned.
