British developers Ripstone, developers of titles like Stick it to the Man and Ironcast have announced that Chess Ultra will have new multiplayer features on Nintendo Switch including cross-platform multiplayer.
When Chess Ultra launches on Nintendo Switch later this year, it will join Minecraft and Rocket League as titles supporting cross-platform gameplay with PC and Xbox One players. Additionally, the title will offer a unique local multiplayer option where you lay the Switch console flat like a chess board. Both players will then control the action using one Joy-Con controller.
Chess Ultra also features ten levels of Grandmaster-approved AI difficulties, in-depth tutorials for novice players, over eighty chess puzzles to solve, and different skins for both the board and game pieces. Chess Ultra is also available now on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and VR. A Nintendo Switch launch date has not yet been announced.
