Rise of the Tomb Raider Runs in Native 4K on Xbox One X; Update Now Available

Xbox One X owners of Crystal Dynamics’ Rise of the Tomb Raider can now enjoy the games new enhancements via a free update today.

Available in conjunction with the launch of Microsoft’s new console iteration, the free update allows players to experience the wide range of new technical features on Xbox One X with Rise of the Tomb Raider, including native 4K resolution.

Rise of the Tomb Raider on the Xbox One X unsurprisingly features the highest fidelity graphics of any Tomb Raider game, with 3 visual settings to choose from including a native 4K resolution for the highest fidelity resolution. Accompanying the 3 visual options are enhanced visuals for stunning graphical upgrades and a high framerate for the smoothest gameplay possible.

Additional improvements include HDR support for more vibrant and accurate colour representation, spatial audio support, including Dolby Atmos, for true 3D audio and enhanced texture resolution for Lara Croft, NPCs, and environments for even more immersive and realistic details, improved volumetric lights, improved reflections, enhanced foliage, upgraded polygonal detail, improved anti-aliasing and amplified texture filtering.

Lastly, to celebrate the update, all owners of the current season pass with an Xbox One X will receive all of the new content featured with the Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration including the Blood Ties single-player content, co-op play for Endurance mode, “Extreme Survivor” difficulty setting for the main campaign, 20 Year Celebration outfit and gun, and five classic Lara skins.

Dan has been gaming for nearly 30 years and has survived everything from Nuclear Fallouts to Zombie Outbreaks but his main love is Survival Horror and don't we all know it. Favourite games include Resident Evil and Grand Theft Auto, he can be regularly found cruising the streets of Vice City listening to the classics.
