Rare’s swashbuckling cooperative pirate adventure Sea of Thieves will enter closed beta later this month, the developer has announced.
Players will be treated to a small taste of what Sea of Thieves has to offer starting January 24 at 12:00 PM GMT through to January 29th when the closed beta concludes at 08:00 AM GMT.
The closed beta will be available to all players who participated in the Sea of Thieves Insider Programme before December 1st, 2017, players who have pre-ordered a copy of the game digitally from the Xbox Store and at retail where players will need to redeem a code from the Black Dog cosmetic pack before the beta appears in their library of games.
Rare’s Emma Bridle summarised what players can expect to experience during the closed beta:
“We’ve crafted a bespoke experience for Closed Beta players that has been designed to give everyone a taste of the pirate life that they can expect in the full version of the game at release. We won’t be testing the full game during the Closed Beta phase: we want to keep a good selection of things up our sleeves for players to discover at launch.”
Sea of Thieves sets sail for PC and Xbox One on March 20th, 2018.
