Independent Canadian developer crea-ture Studios is looking to reinvent the skateboarding genre, and with 2000+ backers now on board, it’s on its way to doing just that.
Inspired by Electronic Arts’ magnificent Skate series, Session is looking to put the art of skateboarding back on the map. In just 4 days, Session passed through its initial £46,696 goal on Kickstarter, with the focus now firmly shifted to reaching some of its stretch goals.
“It’s time to change your destiny,” reads an update aimed directly at backers on Session‘s Kickstarter campaign. “We talked about giving you a chance to choose your stretch goals. Since we are nearly halfway to our first stretch goal, here is how we’ll do it. Every time we reach a stretch goal, you will have the chance to vote for your next target.”
Backers can vote between board and character customisation, mini ramp skateboarding, Vert/MegaRamp with pro skateboarder Elliot Sloan or another city to showcase their skills through. At the time of writing, board and character customisation leads the way by some margin with 36% of the overall vote.
Though a release date is some way off, Session will arrive for Xbox One, PS4 and PC when it releases.
