Controversial Slender Man Movie Gets Debut Trailer

Sony Pictures has debuted the first official trailer for Sylvain White’s Slender Man, a film based on the terrifying fictional faceless antagonist.

Arguably the most famous of all creepypasta’s, Slender Man first appeared in 2009 and made his video game debut in 2012’s freeware title Slender: The Eight Pages before venturing out onto consoles with the release of Slender: The Arrival in 2015.

Despite being the work of fiction, the creation of Slender Man is shrouded in controversy following the murder of high school student Payton Leutner in 2014 at the hands of two friends who claim to have committed the crime to appease Slender. Bill Weier, father of one of the two young girls charged with Leutner’s murder called the movie”extremely distasteful.”

White’s film takes place in a small town in Massachusetts and follows the story of a high school girl who goes missing after herself and a group of friends attempt to debunk the story of Slender Man.

Better known as RzrsS in the video game scene, Stephan Rodts has been playing video games for nearly his entire life. He started out shooting poor ducks out of the sky in Duck Hunt on the Nintendo, but now shoots everything that moves. Be warned.
