Well, that escalated quickly!
Stardew Valley will arrive for Nintendo Switch on October 5th, developer Eric Barone has announced.
Less than a week after developer Chucklefish announced via a tweet that its loveable farming simulation RPG had been approved for Nintendo Switch, we already have a release date of October 5th (Thursday).
In charge of looking after the port are Sickhead Games, who Barone states “deserve all the credit!” for their work on getting the game ready for Nintendo Switch. No stranger to porting games to console, Sickhead has been directly involved in the console/portable ports of Darkest Dungeon, Salt and Sanctuary as well as Stardew Valley for Xbox One and PS4.
“I’m very happy to see Stardew come to a Nintendo console… I grew up on Nintendo, after all!,” said Barone in a blog post on the official Stardew Valley website. “This will not only be the first time Stardew Valley appears on a Nintendo platform but also the first time Stardew will be on a portable system.”
Stardew Valley will cost $14.99 when it launches on Thursday and will be available via the Switch eShop.
