Rumor: Ubisoft Tease Possible Future Far Cry Game or Remaster Using Far Cry 3 Artwork

Earlier today Ubisoft shared a piece of artwork on its Facebook Page of 2012 classic Far Cry 3 accompanied by the words, “An island we never really left“.

With the developer and publisher promising a big E3 conference this year, it’s entirely possible that Ubisoft has begun teasing a new title in the Far Cry series ahead of July.

Ubisoft’s 2016 Far Cry spin-off – Far Cry Primal didn’t fare so well with critics following its release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in stark contrast to Far Cry 3, which was received incredibly well and is still highly regarded as the best entry in the series to date.

Though this might simply be a case of Ubisoft innocently sharing a piece of artwork from a previous game, the words beneath the image certainly appear to hint at a possible remaster or prequel to the 2012 Ubisoft Montreal developed game that saw players stranded on a tropical island under the rule of pirate leader Vaas, possibly one of video games greatest antagonists.

Far Cry 3 was released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in 2012.

Une île que l'on n'a jamais vraiment quittée.

Better known as RzrsS in the video game scene, Stephan Rodts has been playing video games for nearly his entire life. He started out shooting poor ducks out of the sky in Duck Hunt on the Nintendo, but now shoots everything that moves. Be warned.
